Call for NSS Community Initiatives

The Network Science Society invites proposals for initiatives that strengthen and expand the network science community. The NSS Community Initiatives program provides funding for activities that create opportunities for participation, connection, scientific exchange, and engagement with new communities and audiences.

Supported initiatives may include:

  • Regional network science events, workshops, and community activities, including activities organized by NSS chapters
  • Outreach activities that introduce network science to new audiences or communities
  • Educational and training activities, including programming for students and early-career researchers
  • Online programming and events that broaden access or participation
  • Initiatives that build connections across disciplines, institutions, regions, or communities
  • Other creative activities that benefit the broader network science community

Most awards may be between $1,000 and $3,000 USD, although larger requests may be considered. Funding is limited, and we anticipate that we will not be able to support all worthy initiatives.

Proposal deadline: October 30, 2026, 11:59 PM Anywhere on Earth (AoE).
